Red Ain’t Dead

Ah, Copenhagen.  A spectacle indeed.  Leave it to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to tell it like it is:

“Capitalism is the road to hell.”

He also decided it was time to pull out the old ‘sulfur’ metaphor yet again, despite his prior favorable view of the current U.S. President:

If Obama, Nobel War Prize, said here, by the way, it smells of sulfur here. It smells of sulfur. It keeps smelling of sulfur in this world. The Nobel War Prize has just said here that he came to act. Well, then show it, sir, don’t leave by the back door, eh?

Let’s not forget Chavez’ same heaven and hell rhetoric from 2007:

“Those who want to go directly to hell, they can follow capitalism.”
“And those of us who want to build heaven here on earth, we will follow socialism,” he added.

At his Copenhagen speech, he even got a standing ovation.  No surprise here.  As Greg Gutfeld at the Big Hollywood titled it so well, “Green—It’s the New Red“.  I mean, check out the Party people in the streets:
